I have one cat that has never been a big user of my traditional cat scratching trees, however she LOVES these, and uses them all the time. They are a bit messy, but she has stopped scratching our new recliners, so the mess is a small price to pay.

The dog initially needed to be trained to trust walking up and down. Heavy 40 kg Labrador now has no problems with it. I keep my foot on the bottom to stop it moving if he goes too enthusiasticly
